Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Sandwiches

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 3-4 lbs pork shoulder

  • 1 onion, sliced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup chicken or pork broth

  • 1 cup barbecue sauce

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon mustard

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Hamburger buns

DIRECTIONS

  1. Season the pork shoulder with salt and pepper.

  2. Place the sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.

  3. Place the pork shoulder on top of the onions and garlic.

  4. In a bowl, mix together the broth, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the pork.

  5. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

  6. Once cooked, shred the pork using two forks.

  7. Serve the pulled pork on hamburger buns with additional barbecue sauce if desired.
